Rodil se je leta 1964. Gimnazijo je obiskoval v Škofji Loki, na Univerzi v Ljubljani je diplomiral iz filozofije in sociologije kulture. Poklicno je deloval kot srednješolski profesor filozofije in sociologije, vodja gledališkega programa v Cankarjevem domu v Ljubljani, pisec promocijskih besedil, turistični vodnik, prevajalec, dramaturg, kritik, esejist in pisatelj. Piše kratke zgodbe, romane, drame, dramatizacije in stripovske scenarije. Nastopa na literarnih večerih doma in v tujini. Born in Slovenia in 1964, Boris Pintar graduated from the University of Ljubljana with a degree in philosophy and the sociology of culture. He works as a freelance writer, arts reviewer, translator, and editor. He has written a wide range of works, including a novel, two short-story collections, a collection of essays, plays, comic strip scripts, and a screenplay. His work has appeared in numerous literary and critical journals and other publications, both in Slovenia (Apokalipsa, Delo, Dialogi, Gorenjski Glas, Literatura, Mentor, Nova Revija, Primorska Srečanja, Radio Slovenia, Sejalec, Sodobnost) and abroad – in the United States (Del Sol Review, Mirage Periodical, Talisman, Velvet Mafia, Flit Magazine, Absinthe, Ganymede, The Gay & Lesbian Review), México (Posdata), United Kingdom (Chroma Journal), the Czech Republic (Blatt), Spain (Horizon, alex_lootz), Bosnia–Herzegovina (Album, Zora), Croatia (Lapis Histriae) and Serbia (Balkanski književni glasnik, Symposion). He has given readings of his work in Slovenia and abroad. He has also translated several plays from English for the Slovene stage: Beth Henley’s Crimes of the Heart, Sean O’Casey’s The End of the Beginning, and Steven Berkoff’s Harry’s Christmas.
