Literary Europe Live (LEUL), led by the UK-based European platformLiterature Across Frontiers (LAF), is a new project selected for funding under the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union. Slovene Writers’ Association is among the sixteen member organisations from thirteen countries participating in the project. Within the Literary Europe Live project emerging authors are presented through book fairs, literary festivals and other events organized by the partners of the project.
Simon Brooks is a well-known Welsh-language academic, journalist and essayist. The author of several books his most recent monograph, Pam na fu Cymru (Why Wales never was), published by the University of Wales Press last year, is a comparative study of 19th century nationalisms in Wales, the British Isles and central Europe, including Slovenia. He was editor of Barn (Opinion), the leading current affairs magazine in Wales, for ten years. He is currently editor of the Welsh-language encyclopaedia for literary and cultural theory, Esboniadur Beirniadaeth a Theori Lenyddol, at Academi Hywel Teifi, Swansea University. He lives in Porthmadog, a predominantly Welsh-speaking community in north-west Wales, where he is active in the local community and a town councillor.
