Literary Europe Live (LEUL), led by the UK-based European platformLiterature Across Frontiers (LAF), is a new project selected for funding under the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union. Slovene Writers’ Association is among the sixteen member organisations from thirteen countries participating in the project. Within the Literary Europe Live project emerging authors are presented through book fairs, literary festivals and other events organized by the partners of the project.
Daina Tabūna was born in Riga, Latvia, in 1985. Since 2000 she has had short stories published in numerous Latvian culture magazines and internet sites. In 2010 she graduated from the Latvian Academy of Culture, where she studied playwriting and screenwriting. 2014 saw the publication of her first short story collection entitled Pirmā reize (The First Time), which got nominated for several Latvian culture awards, including the nomination for the annual Latvian Literature Award as the best debut of the year.
Cvetka Bevc studied musicology and comparative literature at the University of Ljubljana and also attended post-graduate study at University College Cork. She worked as an editor at a music journal for young people (Glasbena mladina) and at the national broadcasting house and the Slovene Writers’ Association. She writes poetry, prose, radio plays and children’s stories.[2] Her novel Potovci (Travellers) was one
of the five finalists for the 2012 Kresnik Award.
