Smiljan Trobiš
He was born in Novo mesto, Slovenia, in 1956. He finished grammar school in 1975 and studied medicine in Ljubljana. He graduated from Pedagogic academy in Ljubljana in 1986. Since 1999 he is a free artist in the field of culture – poet.
He won Trdinova prize in municipality of Novo mesto for his literary and cultural work. He is a member of the Association of Slovene writers. He lives and creates in Novo mesto.
He published twenty-three books of poetry, more books of meditations and he cooperated in many books with the painters. He writes books of creative writing and leads creative courses. He publishes his poems in literary magazines and he works as a poet, pedagogue, lector and translator.
He is sure that poetry can improve this world, it makes it more poetical and more human.
